He has been in community choruses throughout his life, and now sings in the Collegium Musicum at Oberlin. | Erin Grady , a native of Dalton, Massachusetts, is currently a junior at Oberlin College, where she is working toward a B.A. in music history and theory, with a concentration in cognitive sciences and a minor in psychology. She hopes to attend graduate school to attain public school teacher certification, with the goal of one day becoming a high school choral director.
In Ludus Danielis, Grady will be playing the roles of Queen's Attendant and Enemy of Daniel. This will be Grady's second medieval music drama; in 2004, she played the role of the Virtue "Faith" in Hildegard von Bingen's Ordo Virtutum. Her other early music experience includes her membership in the Collegium Musicum Oberliniense and the presentation of several Renaissance banquets with her high school chamber choir. He starts college, and majors in Computer Science and Music Composition at Oberlin. When he returns to the court in the backrooms, it has disappeared. His uncle gets him a lawyer, but Joseph becomes frustrated with the progress of his case and seeks out Titorelli, the magistrates' portrait painter, who explains the three ways he may proceed with his case, all of them undesirable and fairly dire. Joseph meets a priest who tells him the parable "Before the Law" about a man who waits his entire life before a guarded entryway intended just for him without ever going in. A year after his arrest, Joseph is led away by two knife wielding officials who force him to play a lion and wise man in Ludus Danielis. |
 | Jane Leggiero is a third year music history/theory major. She is interested in early music and jumped at the chance to be involved in this project. She sings in Oberlin's Collegium Musicum, and plays cello and gamba whenever possible. In Ludus Danielis, she is a scary member of Darius' court, and a somewhat less scary attendant to the Queen. |
 | Stephen Lind , a native of the Bay Area in California, is in his fourth of five years attempting the physically demanding task of organizing degrees in physics and organ performance. He is a Renaissance man, for he sings in Collegium Musicum and directs Oberlin's steel drum band. He is a player, in Ludus Danielis, as a Wise Man and a Summons in Darius' court. |
 | Jason Lindgren is a senior composition major from Bellevue, Washington and Marshalltown, Iowa. He officially became interested in music after being thrown in to the Bellevue High Jazz Band after their bass player left and not only had to learn to play bass but also had to learn to read music. After that he decided to seriously study music and hasn't stopped performing in bands, plays, musicals and dance shows. This semester he will be performing in Oberlin's Collegium Musicum, Musical Union, ViBE Tap and a Blondie Cover Band, Gentlemen Prefer Blondie. After seeing Ordo Virtutum last year he leaped at the chance to work with a fellow Iowan and composer, Mary Larew, in this production. Next year he plans to spend 4-6 months living in Russia before he comes back and starts looking for a job as a high school band teacher. In this production he plays a noble in both Belshazzar's and Darius' Courts, a Noble Bearing a Vessel, and an Enemy of Daniel. |

Since graduating from Oberlin, Naomi has returned to her native Vermont and is enjoying life as a freelance dance musician playing fiddle for Contra dances, English Country dances and other events. |
 | Timothy Rosser , a junior composition major at Oberlin Conservatory, has performed in other musical theater productions before, but none have boasted the medieval magnificence or Larewian elegance of Ludus Danielis, owing partly to the fact that they were all twentieth century works directed by other people. Some characters that Tim has portrayed in the past include Jesus in Godspell, Courier in 1776, and George Spelving in The Actor's Nightmare. He has studied acting with Paul Moser and Matthew Wright, currently studies composition with Amelia Kaplan, and will continue to study piano with Monique Duphil. He'll continue to study with Ms. Kaplan, too. He might one day study with Mr. Moser or Mr. Wright again. Let's cross our fingers. No amount of studying can dissuade him from singing a cappella with Oberlin's jazzy "Offbeats" or improvising with Oberlin's sassy teen-drama troupe, "Standing in Stillwater." He is also a terrific piano accompanist and needs a summer job. Tim would love to thank his supportive family and sorptive friends for their respective adjectives. You are ALL my knights in shining armor.
Tim appears as a member of Belshazzar's Court and an Angel "Ludus Danielis." |

In Ludus Danielis she plays a Queen's Attendant as well as a member of Darius' court who summons Daniel. In last year's production of Hildegard von Bingen's Ordo Virtutum, she was part of the instrumental ensemble playing vielle for which she reconstructed a system of tuning and technique based on historical documents. She is a member of the Collegium Musicum Oberliniense and a founding member of Oberlin's only Renaissance dance band. |
 | Rose Williams is a junior college music history and theory major, environmental studies minor from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In Ludus Danielis, she plays a Queen's Attendent. This January she also acted in another Oberlin College production, "Triumph in Terezin" as Karel Frohlich, a famous Czech violinist and survivor of the Holocaust. This is her first singing role in an Oberlin production. She says that learning to sing medieval chant in Latin has been an interesting challenge and that it has been wonderful to work with so many talented and friendly people. She would especially like to thank Mary Larew for being so kind and accomodating throughout the production process. |
